Professor Jessica Stern is a leading scholar, author, and expert on terrorism. She is a member of the Hoover Institution Task Force on National Security Law, former member of Bill Clinton’s National Security Council, and active lecturer on counter-terrorism tactics. She has visited and interviewed convicted extremists to gain insight on the psychology behind why people commit these acts of violence. Her work details the struggles of violence and trauma in both the victims and perpetrators lives. She has been named to Time’s list of 100 innovators with bold ideas.
